Besides, as the number of corona infections continues to rise globally, RT-PCR tests are now mandatory for international travelers from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand. If any of the travelers from these countries are found to have symptoms or are confirmed to be infected with the corona virus, they will be quarantined.

Ahead of the English New Year, various restrictions have been imposed on the celebration to prevent the spread of infection. All these restrictions have been taken in consultation with the respective state governments. In Tamil Nadu too, the Tamil Nadu government has announced that there should be no celebrations in public places after 1 midnight on January 1.
