Martin Bonnet: Absolutely, it’s a tremendous honor to defend my title. Racing in the Dakar Rally is always about embracing challenges,and while last year’s victory was narrow and unexpected,it has instilled in us a strong belief in our strategy and teamwork. My co-driver, Xavier de Soultrait, and I are focused on consistency and smart driving, vital for navigating the unpredictable terrains.
Editor: Speaking of unpredictable terrains, how do you and Xavier prepare for the diverse conditions you face during the rally?
Martin Bonnet: Preparation is key. We’ve tested our Polaris vehicle in various environments, from the deserts of Mexico to Morocco and the UAE. Each location offers unique challenges that help us fine-tune our setup and strategy. It’s about understanding how our vehicle reacts under different conditions and making the necessary adjustments to maintain our competitive edge.
