ONHYM and ONEE sign a natural gas transport contract

Rabat – The National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) signed, on Monday, a contract for the transport of natural gas, which supplies power stations at ONEE gas through the Maghreb Europe Gas Pipeline (GME).

This agreement formalizes the long-standing collaboration between the two Offices, which led to the commercial entry into service of “Reverse Flow” in June 2022, a device which allows the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchased on the international market, unloaded and regasified in Spanish terminals, before being transported to Morocco via the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline (GME), ONHYM indicates in a press release.

On this occasion, the Director General of ONHYM, Amina Benkhadra, and the Director General of ONEE, Tarik Hamane, “welcomed the permanent coordination of their respective teams and the quality of the service provided by ONHYM, through its subsidiary OMCo”, we conclude.
