The OnlyFans model, Skyler Simpson, sparked intense controversy on social media due to a “humorous” video she posted about the devastating Hurricane Helene in Florida.
The recording, which shows her dressed in a pink bikini and pretending to be a reporter, sparked criticism as being in poor taste at a time when many people were suffering.
Internet users were quick to express their indignation, with comments that highlighted the lack of empathy for those who had suffered losses, whether human or material.
The video, filmed in Tampa, Florida – one of the areas severely affected by Helene – features Skyler Simpson as she staggers in the water and is buffeted by the wind, holding a damaged umbrella while her “cameramen” throw ice cubes at her.
Although the content, according to her, was intended to be “humorous,” many have considered it thoughtless mockery.
Even so, the influencer defended her publication by saying that many people really affected by Hurricane Helene had found this audiovisual material funny, including family members who were also hit by the storm.
Additionally, Simpson argued that his intention was to show a comedic perspective and encourage the community to have a little laugh in the midst of tragedy.

However, this has opened a broader debate about the limits of humor in such critical situations and the possible effects of its content on the community.
It is worth noting that Hurricane Helene caused the death of at least 215 people, and left traces of destruction in the region.
But Simpson, far from apologizing, simply invited her viewers to stop following her on her social networks if they felt offended by her video.
