The Mayor’s Office of San Salvador Este, under the direction of Mayor José Chicas, has taken a significant step in the fight against environmental pollution by closing an open-air dump on Fourth Avenue San Luis, in the district of San Martín. This action is part of a broader campaign to eradicate small dumps in the area, where citizens have been depositing waste without considering the environmental consequences.
“We are working hard on our Zero Waste Plan in San Salvador Este, with the goal of achieving a clean and orderly city. The closure of this dump is an important step forward towards improving the environment of our municipality and the quality of life of our citizens,” highlighted Mayor José Chicas.
The closure of the dump is just one of several actions that the municipality is implementing to promote cleanliness and order in its districts. Mayor Chicas reaffirmed the commune’s commitment to continue implementing initiatives that promote a healthier and more sustainable environment for all.
Furthermore, to maintain cleanliness in the areas that make up San Salvador Este, the Mayor’s Office has decided to impose fines on those who violate municipal ordinances on waste management. As part of a comprehensive approach, a plant planting plan has been initiated in areas that were previously used as dumping sites, thus contributing to the rehabilitation of the environment.
The Mayor’s Office of San Salvador Este continues to work towards a cleaner, orderly city with a healthy environment for all its inhabitants.
