(Ouagadougou, Tuesday August 29, 2023). The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad exchanged on August 29, 2023 with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iran, HE Mr. Mojtaba FAGHIHI who expressed his country’s satisfaction with the rapprochement with the Burkina Faso.

The Iranian diplomat stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands in solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso and supports their firm determination to fight for their security and self-determination. He assured that the Transitional Government can always count on the support of his country in terms of training and military equipment.
The head of Burkinabe diplomacy also hailed the momentum of the strengthening of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. HE Mrs. Olivia ROUAMBA also expressed her gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for all the gestures of support for Burkina Faso.
Ambassador FAGHIHI conveyed to Minister ROUAMBA an invitation from his Iranian counterpart for an official visit to Tehran. An invitation that the head of Burkinabe diplomacy welcomed. This official visit should enable the two parties to harmonize views for the forthcoming holding in Ouagadougou of the first session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between Burkina Faso and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
