Today, Saturday, the Southern Refineries Company confirmed its export of white oil and civil aviation fuel with the highest international standards, while revealing its role in the government’s plan to achieve self-sufficiency in gasoline and stop importing it.

Director General of the Southern Refineries Company, Hossam Wali, told the (INA): “The fourth refining unit with a capacity of 70,000 barrels was recently operated by the cadres of the Southern Refineries Company, which created a major shift in increasing the products from this unit to the local market, and among these products is kerosene ( white oil).
He added, “There is a move to export the surplus kerosene after covering the needs of the local market, and a contract was also signed with Iraqi companies to export civil aviation fuel (GTA One) outside Iraq,” explaining, “SOMO Company has contracted with local companies to export This material amounts to 180,000 tons, up to 1,000 tons per day from the South Refineries Company.”
Wali stated, “This shipment is the second, and prior to it, SOMO Company had contracted with local companies to export aviation fuel amounting to approximately 52 thousand tons,” indicating, “The Southern Refineries Company continues to increase the local market’s products and cover them with gas oil (kerosene) and kerosene.” As well as gas (LPG), we are also contributing to the government’s plan to stop importing gasoline during the next year by working to complete the requirements for operating the FCC units in the company.”
For his part, Director of the Production Authority, Salman Hadar, explained to the (INA), that “according to the ministerial directives that were issued after the state was satisfied with kerosene white oil, the formations affiliated with the Ministry of Oil, including the Southern Refineries Company, the SOMO Oil Marketing Company, the Lines and Pipelines Company, and the Distribution Company headed To export a first shipment from Basra to Egypt, with a quantity ranging from 800 to 1000 tons, which can be increased according to demand.
He stated, “We also exported civil aviation fuel, which is distinguished by its quality that meets international standards,” pointing out, “(GTA One) is characterized by sensitive operational conditions, repeated laboratory results, and our high-quality production.”
In turn, the processing and receiving official at the Southern Refineries Company, Haider Salman, confirmed to the (INA), that “export operations are consistent with the federal government’s directions to increase production, maximize revenues, diversify exports, and limit import operations.”
The official of the Planning and Follow-up Division, Ahmed Fawzi, indicated during his speech to the (INA), that “export operations are currently carried out in special tanks that are subject to careful measurement in accordance with international standards.”
