The Oversight Board holds Fernando Santos, former Minister of Energy in the government of then President Guillermo Lasso, responsible for his alleged inaction in the face of the energy crisis that the country was going through.
The Oversight Commission of the National Assembly, controlled by the Citizen Revolution movement (RC), acknowledged and qualified this, February 27, 2024, the request for impeachment against Fernando Santos Alvite, former Minister of Energy and Mines of the government of the then president Guillermo Lasso.
The request for interpellation was presented on November 25, 2023 by Nicole Saca Baldeón, from the ruling National Democratic Action bench. (ADN).
In the next few hours, Santos Alvite will be notified with the qualification of the request, and within a period of 15 days he must present his evidence to the legislative table to exonerate the political accusation.
