P. Chidambaram from Tamil Nadu has been one of the key leaders of the Congress party. In the previous Congress regime, he held high responsibilities such as Home Minister and Finance Minister. He is currently a member of the upper house of parliament. P. Chidambaram, who studied law at the Ambedkar Law College in Chennai, has appeared and argued in various important cases.
P. Chidambaram has also been indicted in the INX Media and Airtel Maxis cases. P. Chidambaram was also booked in the Delhi Tihar Court in the INX Media case. Despite being embroiled in various controversies, P. Chidambaram remains one of the top leaders of the Congress.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Congress leader Athir Chowdhury has filed a case against the West Bengal Dairy Ministry for selling its shares to a private dairy company. In this case, P. Chidambaram came to the Kolkata High Court to argue in favor of the company accused by the Congress.

This caused dissatisfaction among congressional lawyers. Following this, Congress lawyers besieged P. Chidambaram, chanting that he was a supporter of the Trinamool Congress and that P. Chidambaram was responsible for the poor functioning of the Congress in West Bengal.
