In an ordinary session of the Congress of Mexico City, he explained that this initiative seeks to reform the Tax Code of Mexico City, to incorporate the payment of a fee borne by digital nomads who stay in the capital through platforms. digital or traditional hosting modality.
“This contribution will be allocated to urban sanitation, attention to problems derived from gentrification, long-stay tourism and digital nomadism,” he added.
In this regard, he highlighted that unlike a common traveler, digital nomads receive high monetary resources, which further aggravates the level of inequality between the working and salary conditions that a Mexican perceives in the country and abroad.

“The taxes on their income do not fall on the areas where they carry out their work activities, but they do affect the prices of goods and products that are inflated, causing the residents of these areas to have to look for cheaper alternatives in the peripheries. of the City,” he lamented.
