After Disney Plus and Netflix, Paramount Plus is now also changing its subscription models. What you should know about the planned change.
It was only a matter of time: Now Paramount Plus also wants to show advertising to its members – at least the company has adjusted its terms of use accordingly.
It states: “You can access various types of subscriptions (including standalone subscriptions and add-ons) on or through the Service.” Until now, the streaming provider only offered membership. Users could subscribe to the service for 7.99 euros per month – ad-free.
It is unclear how many tariffs there will be in the future. The company also does not disclose the prices of individual memberships.
A spokesman for the streaming provider told “Computerbild” that in other regions such as Great Britain and the USA there is a premium subscription with 4K resolution and a low-cost, ad-financed subscription.
The basic subscription with commercial breaks costs $7.99 per month in the USA. For the ad-free membership, users would have to pay $12.99.
The other major services Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video also have a tariff with advertising. In addition to this, there are usually two other memberships that increase the image quality in addition to the freedom from advertising. The number of devices that can stream content at the same time also increases with the more expensive tariffs.
Paramount+ is a streaming provider that offers a selection of content from Paramount Pictures and other studios. Including numerous films, series and original content. In Germany, Paramount+ is not yet as established as other providers, but is a little cheaper – which could change soon.
