PASOK elections: Anna Diamantopoulou’s first statement after the results

Anna Diamantopoulou made her first statement, following the results of the first round of the PASOK presidential elections, which placed her in fourth place behind Nikos Androulakis, Haris Doukas and Pavlos Geroulanos.

She seemed united and thanked the members and friends of the party who came to the polls, stressing that the next day “they will all work together for the great PASOK”.

“Today is a very important starting point for a new course for PASOK”, said Anna Diamantopoulou first.

He said: “I want to say a special thank you to all the citizens who took part, they strengthened us. I would like to say a special thank you to the friends and volunteers who believed in my candidacy and we dreamed together. I am here and I really believe that we will be united the next day and that we will all work together for the great PASOK”.

In addition, Anna Diamantopoulou avoided answering the question if she would express her preference for the second round.

Integrating 97.63%.

The first round of the process to elect a new president in PASOK – Movement for Change, was completed on Sunday evening (6/10), and the participation exceeded the target of 300,000 voters.

The polls – which opened at 07:00 – were originally scheduled to close at 19:00, however, EDEKAP extended the process by one hour, and will end at 20:00. The participation reached 301,355 votes, surpassing the total votes (270,706) of the PASOK – KINAL internal party elections in 2021.

Just before 11:50, the integration of the country is 97.63% with Nikos Androulakis leading with 30.09%. Haris Doukas follows in second place with 21.47% and then Pavlos Geroulanos with 21.17%.

Anna Diamantopoulou is in fourth place with 19.41%, Michalis Katrinis with 5.54% and Nadia Giannakopoulou with 2.32%. 906 polling stations were integrated out of a total of 928.

Haris Doukas leads Pavlos Geroulanos by 858 votes. The other polling stations are in the Northern Sector of Athens and in the centre.
