“Coelho. Selected” is the name of the illustrated collection, which on October 6 at TASS was virtually presented by the famous Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho.

The “Coelho. Selected” includes the author’s cult novels, the philosophical parable “The Archer”, first published in Russian this year. The second book in the series is an illustrated reprint of The Alchemist.

When asked why his books were not being filmed, Coelho replied that he did not specifically sell the rights to his works, so that readers would have the opportunity to build a “picture” in their heads themselves. “That is, you are your own director, you yourself imagine this situation, this plot, this scenario, these characters, and you draw everything for yourself,” said Coelho.

The author of “The Alchemist” also spoke about his favorite Russian writers: Pushkin and Dostoevsky.

Coelho is loved in Russia, and this love is mutual. At the height of his fame in 2006, Paulo Coelho rode the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Vladivostok. The voyage lasted seventeen days. And in every city, the writer collected notices.
