Pelosi fails to mention Taiwan on Asia trip – Foreign Policy

BEIJING – US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi begins a tour of four Asian countries on Sunday, her office said, without mentioning Taiwan. After much speculation Pelosi could visit China-claimed but de facto independent Taiwan. “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading a congressional delegation to the Indo-Pacific region, which will visit Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan, among others,” her office said in a statement. However, it is not known whether Pelosi, who is number three in the succession to the US President, would also visit other countries.
