As the people are suffering due to the increase in the price of petrol and diesel, the people are left disappointed with the recent news that there will be a significant change in the prices of these fuels, i.e. the oil market companies did not reduce the price of petrol as expected on the first day of this month. The new prices published by the OMCs at 6 am every day, remain unchanged in petrol and diesel prices.

A few days ago, there were reports that petrol and diesel prices will be reduced by 40 paise per litre, and these new prices will be effective from 6 am on Tuesday, November 1. On Monday, petrol prices were Rs 96.72 in the national capital, Rs 106.03 in Kolkata, Rs 106.31 in Mumbai and Rs 102.63 in Chennai.
Fuel prices were expected to fall as crude oil prices fell in the international market, with crude oil prices hovering below $95 a barrel for days. If the OMCs had reduced the prices of diesel and petrol, the prices of petrol substitutes like diesel would have remained at the same level for over six months.
