The new weekly pregame feature has returned for a second week because: (1) you seemed to appreciate it; and (2) I enjoy providing it. Week 8 has no byes, with all 32 teams playing. Two teams played on Thursday night as per usual. Here’s a snapshot of the remaining 15 games.
Only one unbeaten team remains: the Chiefs at 6-0. This is the furthest a defending Super Bowl champion has maintained an unbeaten record into the next season since the 2019 Patriots, who started 7-0 before losing in the wild-card round to the Titans.

Week 8 2024 NFL Game Previews
4-2 Eagles at 3-4 Bengals (-2) | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Ian Eagle and Charles Davis)
Receiver A.J. Brown has a touchdown in each of the three games he has played this year, and the Eagles have won all of them. However, the key to the Philly offense has been Saquon Barkley, averaging 109.7 rushing yards per game.
The Bengals have also found success, winning three of their last four after starting 0-3. Despite their struggles at home (0-3 this season), they hold an impressive 11-2 record against the NFC since 2022.
5-2 Ravens (-8.5) at 1-6 Browns | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Tom McCarthy, Ross Tucker, and Jay Feely)
Baltimore is on fire, averaging 35 points per game during their five-game winning streak. They lead the league with 1,476 rushing yards and aim to break a long-standing record with 150 rushing yards in each of their first eight games. Without Deshaun Watson, the Browns will see Jameis Winston starting at quarterback.
The Ravens have an impressive historical advantage, being 25-7 against the new Browns since 2008.
1-5 Titans at 5-1 Lions (-11) | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston)
Quarterback Jared Goff aims to make history with a passer rating of 140 or more in four straight games, despite missing receiver Jameson Williams due to a suspension. The Titans, facing a significant challenge as underdogs, have recently traded away star receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
4-3 Colts at 5-2 Texans (-5) | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Andrew Catalon and Tiki Barber)
In a rematch from Week 1, Houston looks to maintain its momentum against a Colts team that has regained running back Jonathan Taylor, who is back after an ankle injury. This game could tighten the race at the top of the AFC South.
5-2 Packers (-4) at 2-5 Jaguars | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma)
Green Bay returns from London as one of the league’s best teams. The Packers lead the league in takeaways and aim to continue their streak against a Jaguars team that recently released kicker Brandon McManus.
3-4 Cardinals at 2-4 Dolphins (-3.5) | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Jason Benetti and Mark Schlereth)
With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back, the Dolphins hope to revive their stagnant offense. The Cardinals, who recently claimed victory over the Chargers, face a tough opponent on the road.
2-5 Jets (-7) at 1-6 Patriots | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta)
The Patriots are struggling for the worst launch since 1994, while the Jets aim for three straight wins against New England.
4-5 Falcons (-2.5) at 4-3 Buccaneers | Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox (Adam Amin and Greg Olsen)
The Falcons face a Bucs team missing top receivers. A win could propel them ahead in the division race.
