Building⁢ on the success of⁣ its franchise vice versaPixar presents it on Wednesday 11 December Productions of dreams, a miniseries drawn from the mental universe of its heroine Riley, which humorously explores the sufferings of pre-adolescence while parodying the backstage of Hollywood.

broadcast on Disney+, its four episodes are set after the first Vice versa, ‍ which attracted⁤ 4.5 million spectators in French cinemas in 2015, and before the second, which attracted almost double that number (8.4 million).

Rather‌ than following the joy, sadness and other ‌emotions of the little girl (not yet becoming the teenager of the second work), this variation focuses on the studio where her dreams are filmed. ⁣And more specifically on its star director Paula Persimmon, who struggles to keep up ⁣with the times as Riley grows up,much ‌to the dismay of her boss Jean, eager for new successes.

“Discover how dreams are born and how they help Riley overcome the difficulties she encounters,” ⁤it’s a “very universal theme” et “rich to dig”producer Jaclyn Simon told AFP.

Enter the track at the same time as Vice versa 2the series also stands out for its use of the most original genre of the mockumentary (parody documentary). “We were really inspired by comedies ⁤about the world of work, for example 30 Rock, parks and recreation OR abbott Elementary“, say Jaclyn Simon. “Seeing a familiar character like Joie being interviewed, talking to the camera,” ‍ AND “fun and ⁢refreshing”exults Valerie lapoint, one of the directors of the series. If the serial format⁢ allows it “more freedom”according to Jaclyn Simon, the experience could end ⁤here.

After ⁤creating several spin-off series‍ from his flagship titles such as‍ Cars OR⁢ Up there, ‌Pixar will launch its first original series⁣ on Disney+ in February Win‍ or lose, on a softball team.

But the Disney subsidiary announced in May it was abandoning content production ⁢for the streaming platform to focus on animated films, selling off 14% of its workforce. A ⁤strategy that could bear fruit. Originally developed by Disney as a series, the film Moana 2 is currently a hit in cinemas around the ⁢world. It remains to be seen whether he will ultimately overcome vice versa 2, to date the highest-grossing film of 2024 with almost $1.7 billion (€1.6 billion) in revenue worldwide.
