jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) is one of the parties that graduated to Senayan after obtaining 8.4 percent or 12,781,353 national votes in the 2024 elections.
PKS’s vote share in the 2024 election increased compared to the 2019 election which was recorded at 11,493,663 or 8.21 percent.
PKS also succeeded in occupying sixth position in the 2024 elections, from seventh position in the 2019 elections.
“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the increase in PKS votes in the 2024 elections with 12,781,353 voters (8.42 percent) and God willing, getting 53 seats in the DPR. Of course this is the mandate and trust of the people,” said Chairman of the PKS Fraction of the DPR RI, Jazuli Juwaini, Friday (22/3).
Jazuli said that one of the things that made this number rise was the strategy for placing legislative candidates. According to him, there are new, young and fresh faces on the list of PKS legislative candidates.
“Thank God, among the 53 elected legislative candidates, there are more than 10 people who represent millennials and even Gen-Z. What makes us proud and surprising is that these young people not only won in their electoral district, but their voices were high, like Habib Idrus in Banten III, Dr. Gamal in Malang Raya, Kholid in West Java VI, Meitri in East Java VIII,” he said.
The member of Commission I of the DPR said that the increase in PKS votes and seats had been predicted and projected from the start, although it was not as big as initial calculations.
“There are many factors for increasing PKS seats, but primarily PKS relies on the discipline and solidity of PKS cadres, structures, volunteers and witnesses in winning work as leverage or a competitive advantage for PKS so far,” he said.
