Each October 19 marks World Breast Cancer Daya date dedicated to raising awareness about this disease that affects millions of people around the world. According to the World Health Organization ―WHO―breast cancer is the most common cancer globally, mainly impacting women. In fact, approximately 99% of cases affect women, and between 0.5% and 1% affect men.
Mammography is an x-ray test that allows doctors to detect breast cancer in early stages, increasing the chances of effective treatment. It is important that this test be prescribed by a doctor, who will determine if an ultrasound or other complementary tests are necessary depending on the diagnosis.
In order to combat this disease, several medical centers have promotions on mammograms during October, facilitating access to this important exam.
Guatemala Medical Center
The Guatemala Medical Center offers a 50% discount on mammograms throughout October. It is not necessary to make an appointment, you just have to show up at their facilities, located on 6A. Avenida 3-47, Zone 10, Guatemala City. Opening hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays until noon.
Delta Medic
