Politician Sigve Bolstad Advocates for Armed Oslo Police and Stricter Drug Policies as He Tops SP Nomination List

Sigve Bolstad wants a general arming of the Oslo police and is in favor of a restrictive drug policy. He is now at the top of Oslo SP‘s nomination list.

The nomination committee of the Oslo Center Party recommends Sigve Bolstad (59) for first place on the parliamentary election list for the Center Party in Oslo constituency.

Sigve Bolstad is currently the state secretary for the Minister of Justice Emilie
Enger Mehl
and resides in the Nordstrand borough. Previously, Bolstad was
station chief at Manglerud police station.

– Organized crime and criminal networks threaten
democracy and important structures in our society. Therefore, we must work for a
legal framework that ensures the police have the tools necessary to combat
crime, he says.

The police chief in Oslo advocates for general arming

The police in Oslo should be generally armed, according to police chief Ida Melbo Øystese. She has herself changed her stance on the issue.

Restrictive drug policy

Bolstad will work to ensure that all police graduates are
guaranteed employment after completing their education and for a general arming of the police. He
wants Oslo to be a safe city, with good living environments, a strong focus on
preventive work, and a restrictive drug policy.

Before he took over as head of Manglerud police station, he was
the head of Oslo Police Association from 2005 to 2013, as well as the national leader in
The Police Federation from 2013 to 2022.

2nd place for SP

In 2nd place on the Center Party’s Oslo list is Synne
Lerhol
(33).

Lerhol lives in Tøyen and works in community service. Synne
is passionate about leveling differences, ensuring good health and welfare services
regardless of where in the country one lives, and a solidarity foreign policy.

The committee will present the list for final approval at
the nomination meeting to be held on Saturday, November 30.
