A powerful earthquake struck northwestern Iran.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake in Koi was 5.9 on the Richter scale. The buildings shook violently due to the earthquake which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers underground.
The earthquake was felt in many parts of West Azerbaijan Province and several cities, including Tabriz.
Panicked by the terrible earthquake, people screamed and ran out of their homes and took refuge in the streets. So far 7 people have died in the earthquake and more than 100 people have been injured.
