Two pre-release films will be screened during February: the first is Weekend Rebels based on a true story. 10-year-old Jason is a kid on the streak who has set a non-negotiable routine for himself. His parents work hard to keep the family functioning properly, in the face of the challenges that Jason poses to them. When the family is offered to transfer Jason to a special needs school against his will, Jason’s father, Mirko, offers him a deal. Together they will find a football team to like and in return, Jason will make every effort to fit in at school. But Jason’s criteria for choosing a football club is unpredictable, and nothing prepared his father for that. An exciting and unconventional journey of a father and son, between the soccer stadiums over weekends, during which the two will not necessarily find what they were looking for, but what they needed. Determined to wake him up, she decides to make all his dreams come true, hoping to show him all the beautiful things life has to offer. The journey to awaken her son will also be the journey in which she regains the taste of life. Pre-premiere courtesy of Nachshon and Red Cape Films. France 2023. Director: Lisa Azoulos.
