The FRMF’s strategy aimed at the development of national football was strongly inspired by the royal guidelines in terms of the development of sporting practice, all disciplines combined, including football, which contributes to the integration of young people into society, indicated Mr. Lekjaa, quoted in a press release published by the FRMF.
He listed, in this sense, the objectives of this strategy, namely the expansion of the base of practitioners, the improvement of the conditions of sporting practice at the level of the different regions of the Kingdom according to the standards required by the continental football authorities and global events, the development of the level of national teams and the international strengthening of the image of Moroccan football.
During his presentation, Mr. Lekjaa presented the axes of the FRMF strategy aimed at the development of national football including, in particular, the development of training, the modernization of infrastructure, the improvement of governance and the development of level of national selections.
He also recalled that the strategy adopted by the FRMF greatly contributed to improving the performances of the national teams through, in particular, the qualification of the Atlas Lions for the semi-finals of the last FIFA World Cup ( Qatar-2022), the consecration of the U23 national team at the last African Cup of Nations (CAN), the third consecutive coronation of the national team in CAN futsal and the qualification of the national women’s team “A » for the round of 16 of the last FIFA World Cup.
He also highlighted the qualification of the national futsal team for the quarter-finals of the last FIFA World Cup, of the U17 national team for the quarter-finals of the last World Cup , the first qualification of the U17 and U20 women’s selections for the final phases of a World Cup, the qualification of the national Olympic team for the Paris-2024 Games tournament and the consecration of the national beach soccer selection to the last African Beach Games in Tunisia.
At the end of this meeting, Mr. Lekjaa recalled that this strategy will guarantee the development of the level of football, the modernization of sports infrastructures and the strengthening of the Kingdom’s positioning at the continental and global level, emphasizing the importance of the support of local authorities in the development process of national football as well as the importance of the transformation of sports associations into Sports Limited Companies (SAS).
At the end of the work of this meeting, held at the headquarters of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the parliamentarians members of the thematic working group responsible for evaluating the national sports strategy 2008-2020 unanimously welcomed the efforts made by the FRMF and excellence in the execution of this strategy according to the vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
At the end of this meeting, the parliamentarians who are members of the thematic working group responsible for evaluating the national sports strategy 2008-2020 visited the Moroccan Football Museum which illustrates the intangible heritage of Moroccan football.
