President Gustavo Petro issued a strong order to the Army commanders: “I want you to take ‘Iván Mordisco’ alive, do not kill him.”
This statement by the president responds to his desire that the leader of the FARC be brought to justice so that he can reveal the truth of his accusations.
The president’s instruction arises after a publication on network. The president denied these statements from San Onofre (Sucre), emphasizing that he has never had ties with that armed group and reiterating his commitment to peace.

In addition, Petro denounced the State’s complicity in cocaine trafficking, pointing to reports indicating that radars are intentionally turned off to allow the passage of small planes and boats loaded with drugs. Given this, he ordered the National Navy that the radars cannot be turned off and demanded continuous surveillance on the Caribbean coasts to prevent the passage of narcotics.
«The security policy of the Government of Change is not to spray peasants or persecute young people in popular neighborhoods. “It means hitting drug trafficking and drug traffickers,” said Petro, highlighting the importance of attacking the root of the problem and not criminalizing the victims of drug trafficking.
