Although poor air quality due to PM2.5 persists at the Nezahualcóyotl and Santiago Acahualtepec stations, the trend is towards a reduction in concentrations, due to the decrease in the burning of fireworks and bonfires, as well as the dispersion of pollutants in the next few hours.

Due to the above, the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis reported that the preventive phase is suspended; However, they urged the population to avoid fireworks this holiday season.

“The authorities that make up the CAMe reiterate the call to the population to avoid burning fireworks and not make bonfires during the end of year festivities, to avoid contingencies and protect the health of the entire population,” they mentioned.
