Professional video editing computer up to 10 thousand – advice before buying a computer

by time news

Hello and many thanks to the answerers,

I am in the process of purchasing a dedicated computer for professional video editing

A few weeks ago I started a similar discussion that is no longer relevant, so I apologize in advance for the additional discussion

1. What is the maximum budget? Is an exception possible if necessary? 10 thousand, but flexible for quality

2. What are the uses of the computer Video editing mainly. Software premiere, davinci resolve, after effects

3. Is the peripheral equipment necessary in addition to the computer? No

4. Is there a basic component that does not need to be included in the specification? I intend to transfer 2 drives to the new computer, SSD 860 evo+ssd 960 evo

5. How important is quiet computer operation? Better not be too loud

6. Is there a limitation or preference for the physical size of the computer and its weight, lights, etc.? Mid Tower

7. Is it necessary to include an operating system/office (if so it is advisable to specify a preferred version) and/or to assemble a computer in the store? Windows 11

8. Is there a preference to purchase the computer from a specific store? If not, you can also specify a residential area. No

9. When is the planned purchase of the computer (it is highly desirable to ask for a specific date shortly after the purchase)? Until the end of this month, September

10. Are there any special requests regarding ports and connections (for Dodge USB Type-C or FireWire) or overclocking? No

11. Is there any existing peripheral equipment that will be connected? If so, which one? (docking station if computers portable one screen or another) No

12. Additional comments, extended detail and variations:

I am attaching a specification that I am currently waiting to go through

Intel Core i7 12700K processor

CPU cooling Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black

Gigabyte Z690 AERO G DDR5 Lga1700 motherboard

Memory Corsair Vengeance (2X32) 64GB DDR5 5200Mhz CL40

דיסק קשיח Samsung SSD 1T 980 PRO Read Up to 7,000 MB/s Write Up to 5,000 MB/s

Corsair 850W 80+ GOLD RM850X Modular power supply

מארז Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW – White

The price comes out to about 8000, without additional video card and SSD, so I would be happy to receive suggestions on how to reduce it so that everything comes in at 10 thousand

– I didn’t attach a video card, I’m thinking of going for a 3070TI or 3080. Most likely GeForce RTX3070Ti 8G Up To 1800Mhz VENTUS 3X OC.

I intend to use mostly davinci resolve which needs a more powerful GPU, so 8GB seems to be enough but I would go for 12GB if possible.

– DDR5 is very nice on paper, but is there really any point in investing in DDR5 right now, or is it better to go for DDR4. I don’t exactly upgrade often, so I thought I’d go for something newer, but at the same time I don’t really understand what DDR 5 offers vs. 4 at the moment.

– I currently work mainly with 1080p in H.264 format, but I want to be able to work with 4k without having to upgrade all the hardware again in the near future

– I never understood the difference between a BOX and TRAY processor

– Is it recommended to take two SSD NVME, one will be Terra and will have Windows installed with all software. The second will be 2 tera and in it I will put all the raw materials he works with. Will it change anything quickly?

– In addition, I’m thinking of taking another normal SSD of 2 Tera, I’d love to get the umbrella for something of high quality

– I want to add and change fans in the case. 3 of 120 in front that let in air (or two 140 in front). 1 in the back and 1 or 2 up in the back to let air out.

Doubt if fans are needed on the side.

What is the recommendation for the configuration of the ventilation and which model of fans in the case and the hardware I chose. It’s important to me that it’s not too loud. (RGB is not really important to me, but it would be nice to keep a black-white aesthetic)
