This strong commitment of the INDH is explained by the important role of preschool education as one of the fundamental pillars of the reform of the education system in Morocco.
This reform made it possible to lay solid foundations for the schooling of children at an early age and the strengthening of their linguistic and cognitive capacities, in perfect agreement with efforts aimed at establishing equity and reducing spatial and social disparities. .
In this perspective, the interventions of the INDH, which made the generalization of preschool education a priority axis of its third phase, have had a positive impact on early childhood schooling, particularly in rural areas.
Indeed, the great efforts deployed have resulted in the creation, equipment and management of a large number of units, between 2019 and 2023, within the framework of the “Impulsing human capital of rising generations” program, and its relative axis linked to support for preschool education.
The head of the Social Action Division (DAS) of the prefecture of the province of Guercif, Hassan Kara, underlined, in a statement to MAP, that the INDH, more particularly during its third phase, granted great attention to the promotion and generalization of preschool education, thus contributing to improving the reception conditions of children and ensuring them quality education and the development of their personality.
He explained that the Guercif Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH) worked, between 2019 and 2023, to create 109 preschool units, especially in rural and remote areas, in partnership with the Moroccan Foundation for the Promotion of Preschool Education (FMPS) and the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, with a budget of approximately 40.4 million dirhams (MDH) dedicated to construction, equipment and management (for a period of two years).
According to Mr. Kara, these units, spread across all the municipalities of the province, benefit 1,200 children, including 48% girls, and contribute to improving the cognitive abilities of these children, to developing their personality, to preparing them for better integration in primary school and to help them succeed in their school career.
For his part, the provincial manager of the FMPS in Guercif, Mehdi Guennouni, indicated that the total number of preschool units managed by the Foundation at the provincial level, including units carried out within the framework of the INDH, is rises to 233 units, benefiting 2,900 students.
He said that the Foundation has mobilized all the means, tools and educational equipment necessary to offer better services to beneficiaries, whose number is constantly increasing, in coordination and cooperation with the Local Human Development Committee and the other partners.
