PSG: it’s official, Fabian Ruiz is Parisian for five years

And five! After Vitinha, Hugo Ekitiké, Nordi Mukiele and Renato Sanches, PSG announced this Tuesday the fifth recruit of its summer transfer window. As expected since the beginning of August, it is the Spanish international Fabian Ruiz, 26, who arrives from Napoli, in Serie A (Italy).

A surprise track revealed in early August, the transfer of the versatile midfielder, capable of playing as well as a torchbearer than a notch above, took a little longer than expected to complete. In the end, Naples and Paris have agreed in the last 48 hours for a transfer costing just over 20 million euros. Ruiz, who landed in Paris on Tuesday morning before passing his medical exams in the afternoon, signed a five-year contract with PSG, until June 2027.

Trained at Real Betis, Ruiz had been playing for Napoli since 2018, with whom he played 166 games (22 goals, 15 assists). Spanish international (15 caps, 1 goal), he has not been called up with La Roja since Euro 2020, in which he participated as a substitute.

Many movements still expected

Less than 48 hours from the end of the summer transfer window (this Thursday, September 1 at 11 p.m.), other movements are expected around PSG. Paris is still waiting for one or two recruits after Ruiz, a central defender (Milan Skriniar remains a priority in this position) and a more attacking midfielder, or even an attacker.

In the direction of the departures, in addition to the Paredes (Juventus) and Navas files, which had to go the opposite way to that of Ruiz, several players placed in the second training group (Rafinha, Icardi, Draxler…) as well as young professionals could leave the club, permanently or on loan. Gueye and Kurzawa, they should take the direction of the Premier League.
