A Swede blows the whistle for PSG-PSV Eindhoven. UEFA has appointed <a href="https://time.news/champions-league-23-24-arsenal-and-bayern-munich-battle-to-a-2-2-draw-cycle-9-game-board-recap/" title="Champions League 23-24: Arsenal and Bayern Munich Battle to a 2-2 Draw – Cycle 9 Game Board Recap”>Glenn Nyberg, a 36-year-old manager, as manager of the match between the Parisian club and the Dutch club scheduled for this Wednesday for the third day of the Champions League (9pm).
The referee has already officiated this season on the European scene during the debut match between Manchester City and Inter (0-0, 1 yellow card given). Last season he had already crossed paths with the Parisians during the return match against Borussia Dortmund in the group stage (1-1, 2 yellows), a match which allowed Luis Enrique’s men to validate their ticket to the round of 16. It will be the first time, however, for PSV Eindhoven.
He refereed France-Belgium at the European Championships
Despite his two experiences, Glenn Nyberg remains a “young” referee on the European and international scene. Its biggest reference remains the draw (2-2) between Bayern and Arsenal in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2023 Champions League.

After five games in C1 last season alone, the Swede played his first European Championship this summer, where he took charge of the Blues’ round of 16 match against Belgium. Glenn Nyberg will be assisted by Mahbod Beigi and Andreas Söderkvist, the same trio from the European Championships, with Kristoffer Karlsson as fourth referee. Stuart Attwell, referee in the Premier League, will take care of VAR.
