jpnn.comSURABAYA – PT Pupuk Indonesia is again holding the 2024 National Junior Weightlifting Championship (Kejurnas) aged 18-20 in Surabaya on 22-24 October.
The third annual national championship held by Pupuk Indonesia Group was attended by dozens of athletes from Aceh to the Papua Mountains.
Director of Human Resources (HR) Pupuk Indonesia, Tina T Kemala Intan, said that as a BUMN, Pupuk Indonesia has a big responsibility not limited to achieving profits alone, but also making a real contribution to society.
One form of this is supporting the birth of outstanding athletes in the country, especially weightlifting.
“Since 2022, Pupuk Indonesia together with three of its subsidiaries, namely Petrokimia Gresik, Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, and Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, have provided support to the Executive Board of PABSI (All Indonesian Weightlifting Association). We are proud that the previous National Weightlifting Championships have succeeded in scoring “Talented lifters,” said Tina when opening the National Weightlifting Championship.
It is hoped that Pupuk Indonesia’s support will provide encouragement for young athletes in the country to show their potential in the sport of weightlifting.
Apart from that, the participants who compete are expected to be able to make the most of this opportunity, and become athletes who will make the nation proud, both at the national and international levels.
“As inspiration, we can look at Rizki Juniansyah as a history maker who won the first gold medal in weightlifting at the Olympics, then Eko Yuli Irawan, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, Nurul Akmal who also made brilliant achievements for Indonesian Weightlifting. They also graduated from the National Championship held by Pupuk Indonesia,” he said.
