Big leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian PM Narendra Modi, Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian, South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are included in the summit.

According to CNN report, this is the largest international event hosted by the Russian President since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February 2022. Apart from Russia, there are countries like Iran and China in this summit, which have been directly challenging America. Alex Gabuev, director of the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center in Berlin, believes that this BRICS summit is a gift to Putin. This conference held in Russia is quite different from the summit held in Johannesburg last year because then Putin participated in it through video call. The Russian president has been chairing the organization since it doubled in size this year.
