The Russian president, Vladimir Putinsaid this Wednesday that Venezuela is a “reliable partner,” during a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, on the sidelines of the summit Brics en Kazanto review joint projects.
“Venezuela is an old and reliable partner of Russia in Latin America and the world in general, and mutually beneficial cooperation is developing in all areas,” Putin said during the
Putin celebrated the “results” obtained between the joint projects that Caracas and Moscow share: “It is something very good.”
Maduro, who had not visited Russia since September 2019, arrived in Kazan on Tuesday to attend the Brics summit and seek new investments.

It is his first official trip abroad since his re-election in the elections held on July 28, after which the opposition denounced fraud.
“We are making progress on many issues. Venezuela has managed to recover its economy with its own efforts (…) our entire delegation is prepared for us to advance on bilateral cooperation issues,” said Maduro without going into details.
The Venezuelan president also insisted that Venezuela is prepared to be an active member of the Brics.
Venezuela is getting ready to hold a meeting of the Russia-Venezuela mixed commission on November 7 in which they will seek to review the joint projects carried out by the governments in the financial, tourism, scientific and cultural areas.

The Executive Vice President and Minister of Petroleum, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived in Kazan on Monday with Foreign Minister Yván Gil to offer “investment options” in the oil field to the Brics countries.
The Caracas-Moscow relationship strengthened during the government of the late former president Hugo Chávez (1999-2013).
The Brics bloc was founded in 2009 with four members: Brazil, Russia, India and China, and in 2010 South Africa joined. In 2024, Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates joined.
