Qatar has entered into a competition with countries wishing to buy a majority of the shares of the Italian football club Inter Milan, after the Chinese company “Suning”, which owns it, proposed the idea of selling the majority of the team’s shares due to the major financial problems it is suffering from as a result of the repercussions of the Corona virus outbreak crisis.
Italian and French media reports stated that “the Qatari sovereign fund entered the competition to buy 68.55 percent of the Italian team’s shares, and the investment fund in London is competing with it.”
The giant Chinese company wants to obtain an amount exceeding 200 million euros from the deal, and has set a deadline for closing the offers, which is the 31st of this month.
Qatar owns the French team Paris Saint-Germain, and wants to also include Italian Inter Milan by exploiting the financial difficulties of the Chinese owner company.
Inter Milan is currently at the top of the Italian League, 4 points behind its chaser and neighbor, Milan.
