The Qatari leadership is ready to resume mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement if the parties express their intention⁢ to do so. This was announced by the official ⁤representative ‌of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ‌of ‌qatar, Majid⁤ bin Mohammed al-Ansari, Day.Az reports with reference ⁣to TASS.

“On behalf of my government, I place on record that as soon as we see commitment ‌from both sides, you ‍will see that Qatar‍ will fully resume‌ any [посреднические] efforts that we⁣ can make to⁣ peacefully resolve this conflict,” he⁤ said at the Mediterranean Dialogues conference ⁢in Rome.

“first ⁤of‌ all, I must⁤ say that we will never give up. We made this very clear even ‌in our statement⁣ that announced the suspension of our efforts to complete this task‌ and⁢ the‍ reason ⁤why we‍ suspended‌ these⁢ efforts,” he said in response to the‍ moderator’s statement that Qatar surrendered ‌at a certain stage‍ of the mediation.‍ “We are ready⁢ to instantly return to the negotiating table ‌when we see readiness⁣ on both sides,” added the representative of the Qatari Foreign ‌Ministry. “We are putting pressure⁤ on the international community, on both ⁣sides [конфликта]so that they do this,” he clarified.

According to⁣ al-Ansari, “The intermediary must be ⁢careful that ⁣he is not used [одной из сторон] to continue ⁣the⁣ conflict.” In this case, added the ⁤representative of the Qatari foreign Ministry, ‌the mediator must “draw a line” and wait for the⁤ positions of the conflicting‍ parties to change.‌ If the negotiators do⁤ not want to reach an agreement, ⁤”not a single mediator in the ⁢world, no matter how powerful he might potentially be, will will ‌be able to create ⁢conditions for reaching an agreement,” he added.

As france-Presse reported, citing ⁣an unnamed Hamas representative, the Palestinian ⁢movement has notified mediators in‌ Egypt, Qatar and Turkey of its readiness to conclude a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
