This exhibition aims to build bridges of communication and cultural dialogue between the two countries, through the creation of joint artistic works within the framework of the “Jedari art” program.
The event brings together six painters from Morocco and Qatar specializing in the art of graffiti, a form of urban art which is increasingly establishing itself in the artistic landscape.
The works created by Moroccan and Qatari artists were arranged side by side in the vast spaces of Hassan II Park, transporting visitors into the world of art and creativity, in order to explore shared cultural facets.
In a statement to MAP, Hamza Marmouche, one of the painters participating in the event, indicated that his frescoes stood out for the use of the color green, which evokes the olive tree in Moroccan culture, while in Qatar, it symbolizes the palm tree.
For his part, Qatari artist Mubarak Nasser Al-Thani stressed that his fresco embodies a mixture of Arab Levantine and Moroccan architectural styles, thus illustrating the ties that unite Morocco and Qatar despite their geographical distance.
Recalling that cultural and artistic differences often exist even within the same country, he noted that this cultural initiative will bring the cultures of the region closer together.
Initiated by “Years of Culture”, the Qatar-Morocco Cultural Year 2024 testifies to the depth and solidity of the historical ties between the two brother peoples and the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God ‘attends, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani.
