This Friday, October 18, Cuba was immersed in darkness from the early hours. The country was left without electricity, forcing hundreds of people to stand in long lines in Santiago de Cuba to buy liquefied gas so they could cook.

More than 60 percent of the gasified population in Santiago de Cuba has not been able to access gas, which has caused a catastrophic panorama.

In images published by the independent journalist, Yosmany Mayeta, you can see the endless lines that Cubans have had to stand in to buy liquefied gas in the east of the island, this being one more problem that adds to the long list of difficulties that Cubans must face daily.

For its part, the communist regime of Cuba reported last week about a partial unloading of a ship full of liquefied gas, where it emphasized that with it it would try to alleviate the tense electrical crisis that the country has been going through for a few months, however, The blackout left many without the product, causing chaos in the country.

Reporter Mayeta said that although the images could be confused with a carnival, they were hundreds of people trying to get liquefied gas in the middle of the blackout.

In recent months, the electrical situation on the island has worsened and the regime tried to restore service, but some time later a blackout occurred again.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) reported that the total disconnection of the National Electroenergy System (SEN) occurred on Friday morning, after the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, one of the main ones in the country, went out of service.

Although some areas of Havana had recovered service on Friday night, another collapse of the national electrical system occurred on Saturday morning, once again leaving the entire island without electricity.
