The Real spanish soccer federation launches a campaign starting this Tuesday, under the motto “Racists, outside of football”, with which it intends to eradicate racist and xenophobic attitudes from soccer fields, making the fans aware that insults or discriminatory attitudes are not tolerable for any reason.

The “Racists, get out of football” campaign includes a symbol that shows a hand making the “stop” sign within a circle of colors that want to represent the diversity of our country. Said symbol was born with a vocation of permanence, to represent the fight of the RFEF and all of Spanish football in defense of equal treatment and non-discrimination, and for the eradication of attitudes contrary to these values.

It will start in the Copa de la Reina

The campaign, whose terms are established in circular 125 of the 2022-2023 season, will start this Tuesday, in the first of the semifinals of the Copa de SM la Reina that are played at the Municipal Butarque Stadium, from Leganes. They will last until the end of the season in those competitions at the state level of the First, Second Division, Queen’s Cup, First Federation, Second Federation, Third Federation and in the First and Second Division of men’s and women’s Futsal.

Specifically, the actions established within this campaign include that, before the start of the match, a canvas will be placed on the field of play with the message “Racists, get out of football” which – once the exit protocol of teams – will be supported by the players of both teams and the referees.

The hashtag will be used on RFEF social networks #RacistasFueraDelFútbol; and the National Professional Soccer League is urged to carry out the necessary collaboration to include the aforementioned hashtag in the television broadcast of all First and Second Division matches.

In addition, the RFEF will coordinate actions in non-professional football and grassroots football, in which the Territorial Federations will play an important role. Among them, the players are called to symbolize with the gesture of the extended hand, in symbol of “stop”, their desire that racist and xenophobic attitudes be totally eradicated from football.

According to the RFEF, the motto and symbol have a double target audience: on the one hand, people who engage in racist and xenophobic behavior, that they are “a form of violence that cannot be tolerated neither in football nor in society as a whole”; and, on the other, football fan set. “Anyone who witnesses a racist attitude, who encourages discrimination or instills violent behavior, can and should publicly make them ugly and denounce them if necessary, so that together we can put an end to a problem that damages the image of all football. Spanish”, points out the RFEF.

The actions that are going to be carried out are described in the aforementioned circular 125, which starts from the fact that the RFEF statutorily has, among its guiding principles and objectives, “to ensure that all kinds of actions are carried out in order to prevent , control and eradicate any kind of discrimination, violence, racism, xenophobia, intolerance, discrimination of any kind, especially for those that could be based on sexual orientation”. For this reason, the RFEF requests the maximum collaboration of all levels of football so that they articulate the precise mechanisms to make the proposed measures and the development of this campaign effective.
