Rajendra Balaji case: Government of Tamil Nadu caveat petition

by time news
New Delhi: The Tamil Nadu government has filed a ‘caveat’ petition in the Supreme Court saying that an order should not be issued on the bail plea of former minister Rajendra Balaji without seeking our interpretation.

Rajendra Balaji was the previous AIADMK Dairy Minister in Tamil Nadu. The Madurai High Court had dismissed his bail application before filing a case against him.

Rajendra Balaji, who is thus absconding, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court hearing the case against him. Meanwhile, eight personnel have been deployed to arrest him and the police are conducting a search operation. The search is continuing in states including Kerala and Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu police have issued ‘look out notices’ to airports to prevent the former minister from fleeing abroad.
The Tamil Nadu government has filed a ‘caveat’ petition in the Supreme Court over the issue, stating that ‘no order should be issued on the pre-bail petition filed by Rajendra Balaji without seeking an explanation from the Tamil Nadu government’.
Accordingly, the Supreme Court will hear the opinion of the Tamil Nadu government when it comes to hearing Munjam’s petition.
