jpnn.comPALU – The Ministry of Communication and Information invites the people of Palu City to play an active role in recognizing hoaxes and misinformation.

The public must be clever at sorting and must understand news that is not worth spreading because it contains misinformation.

“We must be able to recognize and prevent the circulation of misinformation. “This can be socialized through WhatsApp groups or other social media such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook,” explained the Head of the Palu City Communications and Information Office, H. Usman, during the Digital Literacy Science Exploration activity recently.

In keeping up with technological developments in this era, Usman continued, we must be vigilant in using smartphones, especially now that smartphones are our daily use.

“Try to be wise in using social media, respond well to all available information because of the vulnerability of misinformation circulating,” he said.

Usman expressed his appreciation for the initiation of the Directorate of Informatics Empowerment in holding the Knowledge Exploration activity because it brought many benefits to the people of Palu City.

He hopes that public awareness regarding digital literacy can increase further and have a positive impact on everyday life.

“It is very good for Kominfo to hold an event like this, so that the public can see clearly the view of today’s digital era and also for the government to make us much better at using digital,” he said.
