jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Indonesian government began to impose tax options on January 5, 2025, in accordance with the provisions in Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations between the Central and Regional Governments (HKPD).

This policy includes three types of taxes, namely Motorized Vehicle Tax Opsen (PKB), Opsen for Motorized Vehicle Reverse Name (BBNKB), and Non -Metal Mineral and Rock Tax (MBLB).

One important point of this policy is the application of additional levies of 66 percent to the PKB and BBNKB Opsen.

For example, the PKB tariff for the first ownership of the previous 1.75 percent is now adjusted to 1.86 percent with the aim not to significantly burden the public.

After the tariff reduction, the regional government will impose a tax opsen by 66 percent of the tax owed, and the payment of this tax will be directly allocated to the Regency/City Regional General Cash Account (RKUD), replacing the revenue sharing mechanism between the provinces and regencies/cities in force previously.

However, this policy reaped the spotlight from a number of parties, including members of the RI Regional Representative Council (DPD) Dr. Lia Istifhama, May, who proposed the priority expectations of ecological functions, in addition to the regional balance problems due to the scheme of tax results sharing.

“We all agreed that the autoda or regional autonomy schemes must be expected to be the supported system of economic equality. But it must be recognized in certain areas it turns out that this is an obstacle to the manifestation of economic justice. This is if it is associated with a number of motor vehicle tax opsen schemes, “explained Ning Lia in a written statement on Wednesday (1/29/2025).

According to Ning Lia, the implementation of the PKB Opsen has a more profitable tendency for regions that have a large number of registered motorized vehicle populations, while regions with registered motorized vehicle populations will receive a small part of the PKB Opsen which is small.

Ning Lia hopes that the motor vehicle tax opsen policy can also be an instrument to support the improvement of environmental quality.
