Interview Between Time.news Editor and Dr. Ana Maria Silva, Expert on International Integration Education
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Dr. Silva! We’re delighted to have you here today to discuss the exciting developments at the University of International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony. The recent edition of your university’s event, Semini X, has been a hot topic. Could you tell us what made this event so special?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: Thank you for having me! Semini X was particularly special because it focused on fostering discussions about international cooperation in higher education. This year’s theme highlighted the importance of integrating diverse perspectives, especially from the Lusophone countries, which share unique cultural and historical ties.
Time.news Editor: That sounds fascinating! How did the university incorporate the diverse backgrounds of these countries into the event?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: We brought together educators, researchers, and students from various Lusophone countries to share their insights and experiences. The event featured panels, workshops, and presentations that emphasized collaborative projects and the exchange of best practices in education, addressing common challenges and opportunities.
Time.news Editor: Collaboration sounds vital in this globalized world. Was there a particular highlight or initiative that stood out during Semini X?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: Yes, definitely! One of the standout initiatives was the launch of the ”Lusophone Scholars Network,” which aims to connect scholars across Lusophone countries for joint research and academic exchanges. This network will enhance our collective knowledge and foster partnerships that transcend borders.
Time.news Editor: With the digital landscape evolving rapidly, how does the university see technology playing a role in international integration?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: Technology is crucial! We are leveraging digital platforms to facilitate online courses and webinars that can reach a broader audience. It enables students and educators to collaborate irrespective of their geographical location, thus promoting inclusivity and diversity in our educational approach.
Time.news Editor: It seems that the future is bright for international education at your university. But how do you ensure that students are not just passive recipients of knowledge but active participants in this global network?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: Great question! We emphasize experiential learning by encouraging students to engage in community projects, internships, and international exchanges. This hands-on approach cultivates critical thinking and prepares them to become proactive global citizens who can address real-world issues.
Time.news Editor: Absolutely, active participation is key! Looking ahead, what are your hopes for the next Semini event?
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: I hope that the next Semini will be even larger, bringing in more diverse voices and innovative ideas. My vision is to not only celebrate our shared heritage but also to actively contribute to the development goals of our countries. Ultimately, fostering an environment where collaboration leads to meaningful change is what we aspire for.
Time.news Editor: That’s an inspiring vision! Thank you, Dr. Silva, for sharing your insights with us today. It’s clear that the University of International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony is making significant strides in creating a more interconnected and inclusive educational landscape.
Dr. Ana Maria Silva: Thank you for having me! It’s been a pleasure discussing our initiatives. I invite everyone to keep an eye on our future projects and join us in this exciting journey of international integration.
