jpnn.com – Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran Lentera Kasih Volunteer Advisory Board (Relations), Sahat MP Sinurat regrets the action of a handful of MPR session participants cheering the family of the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), during the inauguration of the president and vice president on October 20 2024.
It is known that a video of MPR session participants cheering Jokowi’s family, namely Kaesang Pangarep, Kahiyang Ayu and her husband Bobby Nasution, went viral on social media.
Sahat regretted that there were screams of “huuu” when the camera focused on Kaesang, Bobby and Kahiyang, especially since the MPR session was broadcast live and watched by the wider public.
Apart from that, the session was not only attended by MPR members, but there were invited guests from within and outside the country, including leaders of friendly countries.
“We regret the outcry from a handful of unscrupulous trial participants who did not maintain the grace of the inauguration trial which is held only once every five years, and is witnessed directly by millions of Indonesian people,” said Sahat, quoted from a press release received, Friday (25/10/2024 ).
He hopes that members of the MPR RI, both the DPR and DPD RI can maintain the grace of state institutions and official state events.
According to Sahat, if there are differences in political views, that is normal. However, he said, it had to be seen whether the forum was appropriate to show these differences in political attitudes.
“This forum is not a candidate debate, campaign or demonstration. So, this shouting is out of place, it gives the impression that there is no maturity in politics,” said Sahat.
