IDF Spokesman Reports Death of Soldier in Hezbollah Rocket Attack

This evening, the IDF spokesman confirmed that Sergeant Amit Hod Ziv, a 19-year-old from Rosh Ha’Ain, was killed by a rocket fired by Hezbollah at a military post in the Shatula area. Amit was a fighter in the 71st Battalion, “Habarak” formation (188), and as a result of the rocket, another fighter was injured. Amit is survived by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Described as a bright and pure young man with a great sense of humor, Amit was also known for his involvement in the community. He volunteered at Kesem, an association that helped families in need, and excelled as an athlete, particularly in skiing and professional basketball. He was also a manager of the youth basketball department in Rosh Ha’Ein.

The local basketball community in Rosh Ha’Ain also paid tribute to Amit, with Avihai Hala, a head of the club’s youth department, expressing his sorrow at the loss. “We didn’t get caught!
