(NYSE: PFE) Against the omicron variant of the virus, it was reported this morning. In the study, blood samples were taken from those who received the Pfizer corona vaccine and compared with blood samples from those who received the Russian vaccine.
The samples were taken from the subjects about 3 to 6 months after receiving the second dose of vaccine and as part of the test it was observed that those who received the Russian vaccine showed more antibodies than those who received the Pfizer coronary vaccine, and that the number of antibodies faded more slowly for those who received The Russian vaccine.
The study included about 51 people who received the Sputnik vaccine and another 17 who received the Pfizer vaccine and showed that 74.2% of those who received the Sputnik vaccine showed resistance to the variant while this figure was only about 56.9% for those who received the Pfizer vaccine. The vaccine also showed that the administration of a weakened booster dose of the Sputnik vaccine constituted a higher protection against the variant compared to only two vaccine doses.
The number of people infected with the Omrienton variant broke records throughout Western Europe and the United States, but has only just begun to make headway in Russia, with the number of people infected in the dense country now standing at around 38,000 new people every day.
