There is an urgent need for research into the consequences of living at home for longer periods of time for frail elderly people, because more and more are now being admitted to the emergency department and hospital as a result of a fall. It therefore often took a long time before they were found. That says Esther Cornegé, chairman of the Dutch Association for Clinical Geriatrics, in response to a message in the AD.
