A robbery took place at the Kochashahr branch of Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank in Gobindganj, Gaibandhar. The robbers tied up the night watchman and took about 14 lakhs.
The robbery took place at Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank’s Kochshahar Bazar branch on Saturday (May 27).
According to bank sources, the robbers took the key of the gate lock after threatening to kill Jewel Mia, who was in charge of the bank’s night watchman. They unlocked the gate and entered. Later, they broke the lock of the bank’s vault and looted about 14 lakh rupees there.
Jasmin Akhtar, manager of the bank, told Jago News, “I came to the bank in the morning and saw that money was stolen from the vault by breaking the lock of the gate. After hearing the details from the night watchman, the police were informed.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindganj Police Station Izar Uddin told Jago News that all the locks of the bank were opened normally and money was taken from the vault. There was no sign of the lock being broken anywhere. The matter seems mysterious to us. The investigation is going on.
