Screaming Trees vocalist Mark Lanegan has died at the age of 58. In his account at Twitter it is reported that the musician died on February 22 at his home in Ireland, the causes of death are not given.

The Screaming Trees were one of the pioneers in the grunge genre that gained popularity in the early 1990s. Mark Lanegan has performed with several bands throughout his career. He collaborated, in particular, with Queens of the Stone Age and was a vocalist in the English band Soulsavers. Together with singer Greg Dulli, they founded the group The Gutter Twins, which released two albums.

As a solo artist, Mark Lanegan has recorded 12 albums. The last of them – “Straight Songs of Sorrow” – was released in 2020. In 2021, the musician contracted the coronavirus.
