Former New Zealand cricketer Luke Ronkey is the head coach of Pakistan national cricket team. It was reported on Tuesday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started discussions to appoint the Kiwi star as the head coach. Financial and other matters are being negotiated.
The 42-year-old Ronkie currently serves as the Blackcaps’ batting coach. He asked the PCB for some time to think over the matter.
Earlier, PCB had offered Shane Watson, Mike Hesson and Darren Sammy to coach the national team. But those talks were not fruitful.
However, Ronki was also offered by PCB last year. But he returned it. Then Grant Bradburn was appointed as head coach by PCB. This time, however, he did not return directly. Took time to think.
Ronki, however, played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2018 as well. He became the highest run scorer while playing for Islamabad United. He was the man of the match in the final. Islamabad won the title.
