Who is tempted to conduct nuclear-powered submarine operations? The position is soon to be vacant in the United Kingdom and the Royal Navy, the British Navy, has no internal solution. She therefore turned to the professional social network LinkedIn to find her “vice admiral” who will occupy the position of “director of submarines”, reports detected The Telegraph.

The future recruit will be “responsible for highly classified stealth, elite operations and Trident, our nuclear deterrent,” we can read on LinkedIn. Trident is the name of the program based on intercontinental ballistic missiles fired from Vanguard-class nuclear ballistic missile submarines.

Remuneration of 174,000 euros per year

The Royal Navy’s objective in publishing this type of ad is to find a retired officer who has already led a submarine in the past, explained several sources close to the British Ministry of Defense. Who says strategic position says remuneration to match. The vice-admiral will be able to count on an annual remuneration of 150,000 pounds, or more than 174,000 euros.

To be able to apply, you must “be a member of the reserve forces or have served in the regular forces”, specify the recruitment managers on the social network. Posting announcements on the professional social network is nothing unusual for the country’s Navy. It is “an initiative that we are introducing to all ranks”, explained a source to the British daily, adding: “it gives people flexibility and allows us to benefit from the skills acquired in the civilian sector”.
