Rugby: Antoine Dupont voted best player of the Six Nations Tournament for the third time

by time news

Ireland devastated everything in its path. Victory at the VI Nations Tournament with a Grand Slam at stake, the XV of Clover fell on a bone or rather Antoine Dupont. With 26%, the French scrum-half retained his status as the best player in the 2023 VI Nations Tournament. After 2020 and 2022, the Stade Toulousain player thus entered his name for the third time on the list. A performance which allows the best player in the world in 2021 to join the Irishman Brian O’Driscoll, the only one to have registered his name three times (2006, 2007, 2009) for a distinction which was awarded for the first time in 2004 .

Antoine Dupont thus arrives at the top of a list which included two other Frenchmen, Thomas Ramos and Damian Penaud as well as three Irishmen, Caelan Doris, Hugo Keenan and Mack Hansen.

Thanks to this election, the Toulousain logically integrates the standard team of the Six Nations Tournament with three other Frenchmen, Damian Penaud and Thibaud Flament, two Scots and… ten Irish.

Antoine Dupont was elected after a vote which attracted 138,000 voters.
